The summer started with a bang for the Bee Worldwide team, it was our first show and what better show to do by keeping it local at the Machen Agricultural Show. We had glorious weather and the show brought an estimated 13,000 visitors and that’s not including the four legged variety, a fair few of which we are pleased to say visited our stand too!
Thanks to Caerfilli Cwm a Mynydd team (for us non-Welsh speakers that’s the Caerphilly Rural Development Programme team) for sharing their stand with us. We also shared the stand with our friends at Sirhowy Valley Honeybee company who were selling their local pure hedgerow honey. We had our knowledgeable beekeeper Lorne East and co-founder of Bee Worldwide on hand answering those tricky technical bee related questions.
There was a strong message on our stand about looking after our surroundings including our pollinators. With Cwm a Mynydd having a seed bomb making activity for the children (and adults), Bee Worldwide with our observation hive being able to watch Queen Beatrice and her hive in action, and the Sirhowy Valley Honeybee Company showing the end result of what the honeybee pollinators produce.
Thanks to the people who visited our stand, we hope to see you again.
If you didn’t make it Machen, fear not we will be at more shows this season so keep an eye out for us! We’re also still offering our bee training courses in the Sirhowy Valley, go here for more details.
